Q. How do I set up a European
roadshow?
A:
If you decide to use our European roadshow service, we
can arrange everything within a matter of hours.
Firstly, choose
your venues and then send us your schedule including location addresses and event times. Next, send us your PowerPoint presentation and we’ll check
it before sending it to our European network. The technicians will
then test and pre-load the presentation before the event.
When you arrive at the
venue, the set, screen, projector, laptop, sound system, back up equipment
and technician are all in place. All you have to do is hit the
start button! For a more customised solution, please call for
advice.

Q. How do I set up a video
conference?
A: You can set it up anywhere as long as you have
access to an ISDN line or lines. All you then need is our video
conferencing unit and a video monitor. The monitor size will depend
on your audience. Basically, the bigger the audience, the larger the
screen. At bigger events, you can also consider projecting the video
conferencing image onto a screen. We can provide this equipment as a
package with set up and delivery included. Our unit can also be
installed on a trolley and moved to a number of locations if required.
Q. What happens if the equipment breaks
down at an event?
A: We never take chances with your
event. We always bring along tested back-up equipment. If we
supply a technician, we guarantee that he will remain on site for the
duration of your event or presentation. Unlike, some hotel
technicians he will immediately respond to equipment issues and will keep
you informed throughout.
Q. I’d like to install a video projector
and screen in our boardroom. Can you advise?
A: Firstly,
we recommend we have a chat, so we can find out more about your company’s
and your end-user’s requirements. Too often, our existing clients show us
previously installed systems that are over designed and hard to use.
We always look for the simplest, most cost-effective solution as we want
to ensure that everyone finds it easy to use. Our independence from
any equipment manufacturer enables us to recommend the best option
available on the market.
Q. How can I project slides from my
computer?
A: You can project slides from your computer or
laptop by connecting directly to an LCD projector. To hire a laptop
and/or LCD projector please contact our Hire Department to check for
availability and prices.
Q. I’m on the move all the time.
What’s the lightest, smallest kit I can use to project my electronic slide
presentation?
A: The wonders
of new technology now allow you to load your PowerPoint presentation directly
onto an LCD projector. With this system you lighten your load
considerably. The projector weighs only 1.2Kg and you no longer need to
carry a laptop. Once your slide show is complete, it’s a very simple
process. Your presentation is recorded on to a memory chip.
The chip is then placed directly into the projector and the slide
presentation is controlled by the remote control on screen. Give us a call
if you’d like to find out more about transferring your slides to this
innovative new format.

Q. What’s the best way to print from a
PowerPoint presentation?
A: You can print directly from your
colour screen presentation but you may want to print to black and white to
make cost savings or use a white background so written notes can easily be
made on the print copy. If this is the case, we advise that you
produce two separate presentations, one for screen and one for
print.
The presentation for print should only be adapted when you’re completely happy with the screen version. It’s important to avoid makings changes to both copies as this is where errors can occur. Print versions should be produced without background images. Colours for print should be optimised to print dark text on pale or white backgrounds. Printed presentations templates may also need to be reformatted to allow for left or top of page document binding.
We have considerable experience printing from PowerPoint and can assist you at any stage of production. Give us a call if you’d like to find out more about this service.
Back to TopQ. Can I use the same projector to project
video and PowerPoint slides?
A: Yes you can.
However, if you are playing video with audio, we’d recommend you use an
external sound system as audio from projector speakers is very poor.
Q. Can I project my computer
presentation on a plasma screen?
A: Yes you can but you’ll
probably end up with a stretched image as most plasma screens come in 16:9
(wide screen format) and your computer screen is 4:3 format. We can
convert your slides so they are formatted correctly for 16:9 screens or we
can supply a 4:3 ratio screen.
